A moment to appreciate

We often forget about things around us until we don’t have it.

For example, when you’re away from home, you started to think about all the food or the items you can get easily on daily basis and then you don’t have access to them while you’re traveling. (Which happened to me as I’m currently traveling for work).

Or, you may also miss someone (human or pets) whom you meet on daily basis, part of your routine, then you are away from them for few days (or weeks/months).

So, I feel that I took those things for granted.

This situation is also somewhat similar to wanting to have what other people have. The grass is greener on the other side.

But this happened to me few times and when it really happened, actually I feel the place I came from is not bad after all.

Is it human greed to always wanting something they don’t have? Maybe.

But being away from your routine also give you an opportunity to take a step back and think. It’s reflection time.

As I’m writing this in a cafe, sitting by the window, and enjoying the sun, I miss home, where you usually meet your loved ones after work or place for your to wind down and recharge.

I feel glad I have friends and family support while I’m away. Whether it’s personal or work family.

Do you have such moments?

How do you deal with it?
