Sometimes I wonder if Team Chara Cats is a random project.
One day it’s a 10-second Reel of somepawdy doing something silly. Another day it’s a product review. Then suddenly mii (me) is posting about FIV, nutrition, cat shows, or something else mii spent too much time reading about.
And every time, the same question comes back.
What is this account supposed to be?
Educational?
Cute cats?
Multi-cat household chaos?
Reviews?
At some point, I realised I was treating “niche” like it meant choosing only one type of content.
But maybe the niche was never the content type.
The common thread has always been life with five cats, through one curious meowther.
Sometimes something funny happens, so mii shares it.
Sometimes we try something new, so mii reviews it.
Sometimes mii gets curious, reads far too much about a topic, then everyone gets dragged along for the ride. 😛
Different content. Same household. Same cats. Same point of view.
And maybe that is enough.
I still want every post to give something to the person reading it. But “something” does not always need to mean education.
Sometimes you learn something.
Sometimes you relate.
Sometimes you get to know one of the cats a little better.
Sometimes Conan being an idiot for eight seconds is the entire value of the post.
The moment I start asking, “What does my niche require me to post today?”, Instagram starts feeling like homework.
So maybe the better question is:
Is this something from our lives that feels worth bringing you along for?
If yes, then it belongs here.
And if you’ve been here for a while, what kind of Team Chara Cats posts do you enjoy seeing most?
