Does it really worth the effort?

In relation to my rescue, June, we went to adoption drive hoping to find her a good home. As I’m not a rescuer, more like accidental one because of her, I asked around few people about what needs to be done and so on.

And it feels like opening a new world to me.

Different groups or individual apparently different standard. There is no best practice. So I take all the inputs with open mind, evaluating the pro and cons for each approach and decide which way I want to go to.

One rescuer told me that joining adoption drive is very stressful for the cats and tiring for the rescuer too. It’s not worth the effort. She would apply for a slot, but will not bring the cat. Instead, will print out photos and flyers.

That was prior to going our first adoption drive.

Our first adoption drive wasn’t all rosy. We have mini drama here and there, but overall, we managed to call it a day. I was a little down because of all of the events but, I told myself, it’s our first.. and it might be worse too. Few friends who helped out also told me that it’s not that bad.. I shouldn’t beat myself too much about it.

Then we went for another adoption drive early this month. Having the first adoption drive result in mind, I prepared myself more, mentally. And it turned out pretty well.

So, asking the question, does it worthed it? I think so. All of these will add up to our experience points. Not just me, but also June.

Do you have such cases where it’s so daunting to start on something or when you question yourself should I do it or not? How did it turn out?
