Are we making excuses for ourselves?

I have 2 favorite quotes after watching a Japanese drama. The title is “DOCTORS: 最高の名医“. First is, “Statistic is just an excuse for doctor to hide from the patient. And saying “it’s usually like that ..” too ” – Sagara Kosuke Sagara Kosuke is the main character in the drama with some “unique” characters. I think sometimes we are trying to justify our failure by finding supporting facts which align with our facts. Do you think so? Hmm.. I think I did in the […]

Recently I browsed through some of my old posts and something crossed my mind, in which year was my first post? 2008! I didn’t realise that I have been writing or blogging for 5 years. It will be officially 5 years after 21 September. I started with 4 blog posts in 2008, someone has to started from somewhere right? And now I have 300 over posts. A note to self

I want to have all the good things in life If life is always up, isn’t going to be a flat life? Why this person have this? Why that person have that? Why I can’t get it too? Why do you want your life to be the same as other person. When you think it that way, you wouldn’t have interesting life 12 May 2013

Get out from your box

When I was studying back then, I heard a lot of advices from my seniors that we need to constantly challenging ourselves by stepping out of our comfort zone. I understood it, but I don’t know that advice  can also be seen beyond that. With that in mind, I tried many things and put down somethings too. I listed down all the items or activities I’d like to have since I was a kid but I wasn’t unable to accomplish […]

Transformation of a Kanji word

In today’s lesson, my sensei taught us a very interesting meaning behind a Kanji word. 辛い(つらい – tsu-ra-i): hardship, mentally painful 泣く(なく – na-ku): to cry 涙 (なみだ – na-mi-da): tears And if we do these that word can give us a brand new meaning: For 辛(い) +  (work hard or hang in there) = 幸(せ)read: しあわせ shi-a-wa-se. It means happiness and notice there is a small dash on top of it. For 泣(く)- 氵(mean: tears; lit. water) = 立(つ)read: たつ ta-tsu. It […]

ST*U

It’s often that our mind is so busy talking, sometimes it’s a self talk, sometimes we speak it to others. By speaking too much, it makes we hear less from people around us. Or our inner heart. So, have a right mind, right speech and hopefully we will have a happy and peaceful life, not only with ourselves but also with people around us. Happy Vesak!

You may have the best material, but you still fail to get what you want

I’m not sure if you heard about “Puzzle Saga” a puzzle game that I played in my iPhone. (No, it’s not Candy Crush Saga). This game is divided into 2 playing modes, Original and Puzzle. In the original mode, they are divided into 5 different realms. Stronger enemies will wait for you every time you advances into new realms. I’m not reviewing the game here, if you like puzzle game, you should play this too. My story is about what […]

Being an idol

Recently I found a very effective way of motivating myself. I put myself in a third person situation. Here is the story. I observe some of the changes in the entertainment industry, for example: they are more idols rather than artists. To me, idol doesn’t necessarily an artist because they were trained to be popular. But there are also some with real talent. There are many approaches to maintain their popularity, one of them is writing a blog to their […]
