Late late..! I’m late in writing this week blog post due to holiday mood is striking me. We just had a Lunar New Year celebration last week and it completely turned off my brain for many things.
Interesting event happened to me was when I flew back to Singapore from my hometown. (Yes, holiday is over). I found out a movie which I haven’t watched and wanted to watch – Pokemon: Pikachu I choose you (ポケットモンスター キミにきめた).
I missed out completely to watch it when it was released last year.
Anyway, I selected “Japanese” from the menu, which I thought referring to the audio. But apparently it was for the subtitle. Then I realize that there is no English subtitle. I decided to continue as I’m lazy to restart the selection.
But hey, I watched the entire movie and I can understand it. (PS: don’t get so proud, it’s Pokemon movie)
Some friends I met in my hometown asked me what’s my weekend activities, and I said Japanese class. I’ve been doing it for almost 7 years now. I’m not proud of it because I haven’t made a good progress in the past 2 years.
Today, Quora sent me a digest mail and one of the titles inside poked me. And after reading it, I feel that what the writer said resonance with me. I forgot how fun it was to learn the language and know more about the culture (as I learn more life lessons from my sensei too)
Personal satisfaction, checked. But I’m struggling for business purpose. I really want to be able to converse with Japanese colleagues or maybe work in Japan one day. So, thought to myself.. can you please work this?
