Standing firm

Wow! I must be starting to get my writing mode back.. I picked up topics from things happened around me pretty fast. I even found a new direction for my blog. Anyway, I can talk about it later on separate post.

You may heard a saying that if you want anything in your life, you need to let the “universe” know about it. Don’t keep it to yourself, because it will be likely to happen if you let it out.

So, you may ask me, does that mean I will need to tell everyone that you want it? (I used to do that by the way)

At first that’s what I thought. I share with my friends about what I want. And everyone gives me their support. Some said that by doing so, it creates an atmosphere which encourage us to do it. We have friends by our side; the cheering squad.

However interestingly, the intention turned out to be just an empty talk. (after all the talking hey!)

Why does this happen? Or when?
It’s all because after we made declaration, we enter a phase where our determination is on a test.

So that’s when we start to waver.

This is the time to tell ourselves, stop the talking, but walk the talk. This is the time to show our determination. How bad we want it. And one point to remember, action speaks louder than words.

  • I have found that the opposite happens for me. If I talk about it, it isn’t going to happen. However, if I write a letter to myself explaining what I want to happen and then put it away some place, it motivates me into seeing the project through. But I can’t talk to others about it. Talking to others seems to jinks it.
