I always have passion to capture moments. Maybe I had told this many times, how I started to like taking photo. Starting from a film camera, prosumer digital camera, mobile phone camera, owning my own pocket camera, DLSR, iPhone and so on. Seems like I got distracted by owning the tools rather than taking the photos. When I have my first DSLR, I used to bring my D90 with the kit lens 18-105mm everywhere. It’s quite big, not as big […]

What photography taught me #2
Here are some of the take away points for me: Master the basic Understand the rule Know your gear Have a picture in your mind Back to basic What are the basic for photography? Google it and you will find a lot of different answers. But for me, knowing the jargon is a must. At least we need to know what is ISO, aperture, shutter speed, etc. Rule, rule and rules If we dig deeper, we can find lots of […]
What photography taught me so far
The first time I held a camera was in my primary six. I was going to a school excursion and all students need to write a report of what we learned from the trip. The report needs to have picture inside it. I brought a Fuji film camera – the point and shoot of that era. My dad taught me how to change the film but I still made the film burned because I opened it under the sun. Lesson […]
A new journey
2 years ago, I began my adventure in a new country. It’s 2.5 years since the first time I had my first job as web developer in Singapore. He holds a basic course for couple of times therefore mostly his students put the photo to the group and asked him to give comment and critique. I was learning from their photos as well, looking at the picture and reading the people’s comment. The posts were quite long, but scrolling through was quite fun. Until my friend posted that advice. I like that advice yet […]
Are you “what you do” or “what you ‘should’ do”?
The only difference from that sentence is the word should in between the word you and do. If I rephrase it into declarative sentence, it will become something like this: You are what you do, and not what you think you should do. I found this statement from Paulo Coelho tweet a weeks ago. So, since then I’ve been battling inside myself, whether I should do this or I just do this? Easier way to illustrate is always using yourself as example, […]
Lesson from the road #2
2. Curves and bumps are part of our life. When you drive on a smooth highway, how do you feel? Good. That’s true. But you tend to be sleepy after some time. And it’s dangerous to feel sleepy while you’re driving. So, there are bumps on the road, to help us awake. The ride will not as smooth as the normal road, but we are more aware after that. The same thing with curves along slopes. It slows down our […]
Lesson from the road #1
Recently I had a road trip to Cameron Highland in Malaysia, and it’s a first trip I had with a photography club. So, what did I learn from the trip
