On anger and forgiveness

When someone do something accidentally or make mistake that leads to disturb you to reach your destination, will you be angry to the person? We are, normally. A well mannered person maybe still be able to control themselves. A “saint” maybe can instantly forgive the mistake. Adding some salt to the wound, sometimes the mistake or accident is made by people who is closed to you because of your close friend. When these kind of situations happen, how would you […]

On trying

One of my bosses told me that he hate the word “try”. According to him, it means that you’re not serious enough of doing something that you’re going to do. For example, I’ll try to see what I can do to solve the problem. In other words, it means that you know somewhere deep inside your heart, the problem is not solvable. Another boss told me slightly different view on it. He said, don’t afraid to try. Be wilder or […]

Finding inspiration

Few weeks ago I read a blog post wrote by one famous blogger I followed, he mentioned about what would you do when you are supposedly posting something yet you can’t or you are simply experiencing writers’ block. Some of the tips like ask a guest blogger, dig out your past draft post or revisit some old topics then link it with the new post maybe write it with perspective. Truth to be told, I tried those, yet the inspiration […]

Learn to humble

Regardless how bad something happened to you recently, pay attention to it, learn from it, and move on. This post is inspired by a friend’s story and how he learned from his recent experience. He’s participated in a photo competition recently, one of our friends praised him for the photo he submitted. He is quite proud of it too. On the exhibition day, he came with his girlfriend to find out whether his photo made to the selection.

Give your best and improve from it

That is one of my photography friend yet mentor post a status in facebook photography group sometime ago. He holds a basic course for couple of times therefore mostly his students put the photo to the group and asked him to give comment and critique. I was learning from their photos as well, looking at the picture and reading the people’s comment. The posts were quite long, but scrolling through was quite fun. Until my friend posted that advice. I like that advice yet […]

Are you “what you do” or “what you ‘should’ do”?

The only difference from that sentence is the word should in between the word you and do. If I rephrase it into declarative sentence, it will become something like this: You are what you do, and not what you think you should do. I found this statement from Paulo Coelho tweet a weeks ago. So, since then I’ve been battling inside myself, whether I should do this or I just do this? Easier way to illustrate is always using yourself as example, […]

The most important person #2

Continue the previous post.. The next day, I was by myself. I had a relaxing day; went to a massage, watched movie “Hanna”, did window shopping, and most importantly, I had a Internet day off during the day. (well, maybe not entirely off, but most of the time) and also, I put my iPhone in my bag mostly and check it occasionally. And I find that it’s more peaceful. Thirdly, I had a discussion with colleague that usually I don’t […]

The most important person #1

One of the three point from my favorite talks is who is the most important person? For you who listened to it before or read my past post must know the answer. Yes, it’s the person you are with at that moment. The person can be a friend (or a group of friends) or even yourself. So, whether you are with a friend, or a group of friends, they are the most important person/people at that time. When we don’t […]
