Lesson learned this week is
When the journey is long or uncertain, it is more bearable with buddy.
I’m not a fan of running long distance. Maybe I had said it many times, I’ll say it again. However, I like it and yet I hate it.
The serenity of running alone or listening to all the thoughts that came up during the run, is a very personal moment. I used to listen to music when I jog, but these days, I enjoy it more without. But songs did perk me up during long distance run.
Recently one of my friend in Facebook posted about blog post from someone who doesn’t like to travel alone, and not long after that, from the opposite school of thought.
(Have you ever travelled alone?)
I had few bad experiences with my travel buddy but I do have many good ones too. So I’d rather travel alone than with the troublesome ones. Initially it’s daunting. But after few trips, I think I enjoy the unknown of the trip as I don’t always do some research prior to my trip. :p
TL;DR;
Finding a buddy is a journey itself. It’s an experience to identify if the other party will be able to complement us, and vice versa.
At work, when you’re with your buddy, no matter how difficult the situation is, having a buddy will make things more bearable. Just like running. You’ll support each other. Sometimes morally is just enough.
Perhaps you and your buddy are running different distance, but you still can support each other, and help each other if the path crosses.
Don’t you think so?
