A LIVE (Pt 2)

自分の価値気付かないのは、自分の認めないだけだろう

If you fail to realize your value, isn’t it because you didn’t acknowledge it

That’s what the main character told the other lead, after hearing that his justification why he behaved that way and did many things because he wants to be recognize by the people around him.

A LIVE

可能性がゼロでないなら、追求しなきゃ。

As long as the possibility is not zero, we should pursue it.

Was said by a female doctor to the main lead. I’ll not say anymore to avoid any spoilers. If you have time, you should watch this Japanese drama A LIVE. It’s still airing, although it’s reaching out it’s climax.

Label

Shinagawa Daichi: Once they label you delinquent then the label will stuck with you forever

Adachi Hana: The first time I met you, you were willing to do something for someone you just met. So I think you’re a nice guy. Isn’t it just you trying to keep the label? We have the option to change

Yankee-kun to Megane-chan (ヤンキー君とメガネちゃん)

I’m following 37.5度の涙 (37.5° no Namida) drama at this moment and one of the main characters is played by Narimiya Hiroki (成宮寛貴) whom I used to hate so much because of his role in Bloody Monday (ブラッディ・マンデイ), and I found that his character in the current airing drama is not bad. And then I stumbled into his older drama.

It’s a little slow to get to the point in the first episode, and I think the Adachi Hana character is a somewhat noisy, but it has few good lines. So, I’ll watch it too.

取り返しのつかないことが世の中にはある。
だけどこう思う‥
やり直しの聞かないことはそんなに多くはないと。
家路久(いえじ・ひさし)

There are too many things in this world that we can’t turn back. But I think that, there are not many things that we can do it again.

Getting impatient

Recently I was watching “Miss Pilot”, a Japanese drama, about a lady who has easy going personality and not particularly smart but has a good heart. She was accepted as pilot trainee and surprised that she pass the preliminary screening. (maybe you think that it’s very typical scenario in drama right?)

When she was in training with other candidates, they started with different job role before having pilot training. They were thinking that all of those are useless and doesn’t help them in becoming pilot. So they are restless and stress if they are actually on the right track to become a pilot.

Their instructor didn’t want to help them directly but indirectly giving them few hints.

All of those are necessary because a plane can’t take off if they don’t run in the runway and they have to reach certain speed before taking off. So, those chores are their runway preparation.

Sometimes we just too impatient when we can’t get what we want. Then, we started to doubt ourselves that can we do it? or maybe asking “does this suit me?”.

1. We need to have clear master plan to achieve our goal. And take note the results of each milestone. By tracking and evaluating it, we will be able to determine if we really make progress.

2. If our goal is too big to achieve, for example world domination, break it into smaller steps. It will make it easier to reach and accomplish. Once we get one down, move on to next one.

Also, have a talk with your friends, sometimes it helps to see things differently.

Do you have similar experience? Getting impatient because your goal seems too hard to reach?

Latest obsession

In my last post I mentioned that I had a drama marathon recently. Actually I’m still having it till now. To be more precise I’m watching it because of one actor (who is it?).

It was all started because of 1 song, 逢いたくて今 (Aitakute Ima) by 대성 (Daesung) from 빅뱅(BIGBANG) member (MV). Yes, he’s a member of a Korea boyband but he’s having a Japan solo activities at this moment. And, it wasn’t his original song, but it was a cover, from MISIA (the original singer). It is a very touching song.

When I tried to find the MISIA’s MV in YouTube, I found out that this song was a OST of a drama, JIN-仁- and this drama (and it’s sequel) won lots of awards during that time. I did my search before having my holiday. I was thinking was it that really good? Anyway, I’ll take my time to find it out.

JIN-仁- main leads are 大沢たかお (Osawa Takao) and 綾瀬はるか (Ayase Haruka). I have heard Ayase Haruka before, but I didn’t realize that actually I had watched Osawa Takao in different drama/movie, like Goemon or Galileo 2 eps 1 (I started to feel that his face is somewhat familiar when I watch Galileo 2).

(A little surprise..!) On my flight back to my hometown I found Osawa Takao recent movie in flight entertainment. 藁の縦 (Straw of Shield) and ストロベリー.ナイト (Strawberry Night). Aha! (運命か?笑!)

Actually, I hardly watch Japanese drama lately because I don’t find actor that I like act that often anymore and there were too many young ones that I don’t know anymore. (Ha!)

Then, I watched JIN-仁- both seasons during my holiday. Despite I have another DVD 龍馬伝 (Ryouma den) about Sakamoto Ryouma, that I plan to watch as my holiday drama. Interestingly, Ryouma-san also appears as one of the character in JIN-仁-.

This drama is really good, indeed. And after watching it, I feel more emotion when I listen to the song. I’d highly recommend you to watch JIN-仁- if you haven’t watched it. The drama taught me few important history events for example how Satsuma and Chousu alliance happened. (I’m pretty sure I’ll find it more when I watched Ryouma den again)

Another point that I like about the drama is the interaction between the main male lead and the female lead. I was thinking why was it so hard for them to be together, and to some extents I was telling myself “just say it” or “just hug her”. (Which obviously not happened :p) Well I guess maybe because the setting is in Japan old days. So they don’t really display the affection in public. Nevertheless, they still manage to convey the emotion (very intense).

As a result of JIN-仁- marathon and his cute smiling face, Takao Osawa gets my attention. Right now I’m watching his old drama 續。星の金貨 (Heaven’s Coin 2) with 竹野内ゆたか (Takenouchi Yutaka) and 酒井のりこ (Sakai Noriko). (I just finished 星の金貨 (Heaven’s Coin)) These dramas are another heart breaking drama.

I have ICHI (he’s acting with Ayase Haruka again) awaiting for me after this and 世界の中心で、愛をさけぶ (Crying Out Love, in the Center of the World). (大沢ーさん、どうして?あなたのチャラは誰かが幸せになるの事は難しそうですか?悲し過ぎるよ。。T_T)

Now you know the answer to the mystery actor I mentioned earlier?  So, I think for the time being I’ll hunt his movies :p

Although I’m aware it’s just a drama/movie, but I can’t help that my emotion is being stirred or pulled into the story. Oh well, maybe for once in a while it’s good for me to balance out my logic brain.

PS: What happened to the Ryouma den DVD? I need to find out different ways to watch it, my laptop is unable to display the subtitle in correct position and I don’t have DVD player like in my hometown.

PPS: And Takao-san, I hope to see you more in happy ending movie/drama. :p

Lessons learned from Attention Please #1/2

Trivia: For you who are not familiar with Japanese TV series, they are simply called J-Dorama. J is for Japan and dorama is the adoption word for drama.

Attention Please has been played quite sometime ago. It’s about a rocker girl who wanted to impress the guy she likes by being a cabin attendant. Although she was clueless about cabin attendant’s works, she determined to become one, applied for the interview, surprised the interviewers with her not-so-proper attitude, and accepted.

She basically wasn’t fit with her classmates, but gradually her classmates are drawn into her energetic, adamant although sometimes she’s a little bit insensitive.

Here are some of the most memorable lessons I found:

[J-drama]: Kekkon Dekinai Otoko

It’s been a while since I watched J-Drama so I didn’t really have expectation about it.

This Japanese dorama is my first dorama within last 5 years which I got it from my friend in Australia.
Literally, “Kekkon Dekinai Otoko” means “A man who can’t get married”, which at first, I thought it was very serious dorama type, and related with something terrible in the past that’s why he couldn’t married.

But, I was wrong.

The drama is so funny and I couldn’t stop watch it episode by episode.

In short, the story is mainly about a mature, eccentric, perfectionist architect (Abe Hiroshi) who runs a small company which has only one young assistant. He used to live alone and enjoys his small world. Until, he got terrible stomach pain and he has to ask help from his neighbor. Later, more people come into his life, some of them start to like him despite his ‘unique’ character.

What I like from this dorama, besides the unique main character, is the portrayal of ordinary day to day life for example the conflict. His character is accumulation from people characters that sometimes people around us have.

You should try to watch it! It’s simple and entertaining yet quite meaningful to me.

It won’t take long, only 12 episodes.
