Pick your side: Good or bad #1

Lesson of the day: bad thing is contagious. My parents used to tell me to surround myself with good friends. They would let me know about their thought if they feel that my friends may influence me with bad things and let me to weigh this myself. What is the good definition? And what is the bad definition? In this post, I will use general word “things” to represent emotion, feeling or influence.

Why me, why not

Lesson of the day: When troubles come to you all at once, don’t ask why me. It’s part of the whole package for your life. Try to see it as end of semester test. You have learned a lot recently, now it’s time to practice what you have learnt recently. Last week was a tense and busy week for me. Let’s start with what happened at my work and followed by my family. These two seems to collaborate together, to […]

Having positive attitude

Lesson of the day: have positive attitude, the negative will take care of itself. Firstly, what is your definition of having positive attitude? I will start with one example, from one point in our life that everyone of us experienced this many times. We were worried that we might not be able to pass our final exam. We worried what are the questions that might be written on the exam paper. We worried that the material that we don’t really […]

How to quit being a quitter

Lesson of the day: set a goal when you start something new, evaluate it when you reach the goal, don’t stop till you reach it or you will regret later. When you start something new, do you think of quitting in the middle because it’s too much for you? For example, when you start a new job and the working load is more than you expected, or when you join a marathon (although you’re not a regular runner and you […]

Juggling your day

Lesson of the day: when you know your destination but you don’t know how or where to start, it’s time for you to grab a paper, get a pen and start drawing or breaking the task down. I’m sure that on certain point of our work life, there is some period where the pile of work keep coming to you before you even finished tho one at your hand. It happens to me before, I managed to finish it, came […]

Under the rain, we ran

Lesson of the day: when you think that doing something in certain way is unusual but it’s actually doable, maybe you should give it a try and you will be amazed with your whole new experience. Last Sunday I was joining a 6km charity run under the company I work for. There was 2 different type of run, 6km fun run and 10km competitive run. And, all of my colleagues and I who joined decided to go for 6km fun […]

Popularity revisited

(continuing my previous post) Lesson learnt: People want to be popular, but once they are popular, they will long for their quiet life, sooner or later. (Or maybe not) In the last post, I was talking about the trend of people are (desperately) want to be popular in virtual world. Especially with the growth of a lot of social networking, people (that I know of, ranging from teenagers to my peers) are commonly active in popular networking sites like twitter […]

To be popular

If you’re following my tweet, some time last week you may find article about recent narcissism trend caused by facebook. You can find the article from mashable.com (click here to read it). It is a very interesting study, I say. Based on that article, definition of narcism is “a pervasive pattern of grandiosity, need for admiration and an exaggerated sense of self-importance.” And, somewhere in the middle the article states that: The study postulated that narcissists would show more overall Facebook activity […]
