Look at people around you

and you’ll make your world wider.

That’s what my sensei told us during class.

She added, so when you’re on train, don’t just look down and listen to music. Look around and listen to your surrounding.

Another student asked, how can we widen our world wider by doing that inside train? XD

Sometimes I’m surprised with what sensei told us in class.  She often said it jokingly, but I feel somehow it always reminds me about something which happens to me lately, or inspires me.

Rushing

I was desperately trying to get things one after another in my life.

I was holding on to something which had hurt me although my friends have been telling me to let it go. It was good to let it go. I should have done it sooner.

Sometimes I just need to be patient and remember that life doesn’t always go with plan A. When it doesn’t happen, don’t sulk. Something better will come.

A LIVE (Pt 2)

自分の価値気付かないのは、自分の認めないだけだろう

If you fail to realize your value, isn’t it because you didn’t acknowledge it

That’s what the main character told the other lead, after hearing that his justification why he behaved that way and did many things because he wants to be recognize by the people around him.

Are you ready?

I’m going to have my first run in 2017 and it is 21km. Yes.. half marathon. Usually I like to start slow (aka, shorter distance) but last year I received notification from 2XU about loyalty rates and their finisher tee in 2016 was nice, so, without further ado, I signed up for 21km.

I haven’t been running more than 15km before the actual day, and has been traveling as well. Doomed. I thought. Plus, 2 days before the race, there was a discomfort on my right leg..

There was a little hope that the run might be cancelled because of thunderstorm passing from the day before. (But someone might work hard doing no-rain dance)

Nevertheless, I still did carbo loading and prepare my gears and sleep earlier. Gels (checked), bib (checked), attire (checked)

I woke up 1 hour earlier before the bus pick up time to settle my tummy. To my surprise, I felt good when I woke up without much time needed to gather my soul. And, my tummy was very cooperative too.

My brother who is happened in town made a comment as I’m about to leave the house. Seems like today is made for you to run.

Despite my heart is not ready for this run.

Turns out, it was a good run!

So, good reminder for myself is, whether you’re ready or not, just waltz in.. don’t think too much and enjoy it.. If you completed it, then good. If you don’t, then do prepare better for the next run.

Looking forward to more good runs in 2017.

Which role do you play in MMORPG?

tanking

comes from mmorpgs, where you would have a healer in your party and a person with high defense. (i.e. meat sack-o-shield warriors). the warrior rush an opponent and the monk would do their best to keep the warrior alive with healing and stat bonuses. then, the other members could
a) fight and hit hard
b) run away like scared little girls

so, in essence, it is a big distraction to open opportunites for attack or to run away, like a sacrifice but to keepp it alive.

Example:
Chaos Deity had the best plan to win by tanking the enemy patrol and having his team run away.

Urbandictionary

I’m a big fan of Fire Emblem series after I had my 3DS and played Fire Emblem Awakening. So, when they announced that they are launching mobile game Fire Emblem Heroes, I downloaded it immediately. Just nice, after I (kinda) finished my Pokémon Sun.

The gameplay is almost the same, I find it they have done a good job in bringing the experience to mobile.

Anyway, playing this game reminds me that in a team, usually there will be someone or who will be the tank of the team so that the rest of the members can attack the enemy safely. And the ace who will safe the day.

In which also co-relates to our situation in life, isn’t it? That sometimes someone (or you) in your team be the tank, so that others can do their work. And the “tank” doesn’t necessarily mean the leader too.

Besides the “tank”, another role I respect is the base defender because without a safe base, the team couldn’t come home. Or has no home.

While some people like more flashy role, but remember, a team needs everyone to function differently, and most of all, appreciate and respect everyone in your team.

My role back then in Ragnarok Online was Acolyte, the healer. That time Monk, fighting healer, wasn’t exist yet. But if if I’m gonna play MMORPG game again, I’ll choose to be a hybrid role like that. Because I like to keep things together.

And I think, it’s quite similar to how I function at work too.

Ah, I must have missed those days hey.. so much thought I gave for this..

So! What role do you play in your team? Is it similar between your game life and your real life?

My adventure so far

is filled with people who taught me something. Some did it in kind and gentle manner while some did it with stronger impact (good or bad :p)

makes me meet many new good friends who feels like brothers or sisters to me.

Today I’d like to dedicate this post to everyone who has been helping me to grow. Thank you!

Can do? Cannot do?

A friend shared an article about another friend who managed to accomplish something awesome! Because I haven’t be able to do it.

And there is a quote in the blog,

“You’re never too old to set a new goal or dream a new dream” – CS Lewis

I haven’t completed my full marathon yet, and I aim for one. But somehow I feel it’s a very high mountain to climb.

A LIVE

可能性がゼロでないなら、追求しなきゃ。

As long as the possibility is not zero, we should pursue it.

Was said by a female doctor to the main lead. I’ll not say anymore to avoid any spoilers. If you have time, you should watch this Japanese drama A LIVE. It’s still airing, although it’s reaching out it’s climax.
