A LIVE

可能性がゼロでないなら、追求しなきゃ。

As long as the possibility is not zero, we should pursue it.

Was said by a female doctor to the main lead. I’ll not say anymore to avoid any spoilers. If you have time, you should watch this Japanese drama A LIVE. It’s still airing, although it’s reaching out it’s climax.

Inspiration from Bittersweet (JP drama)

I watched にがくてあまい (Bittersweet) while flying back from Shanghai to Singapore. The main male character is a good cook while the female character is a typical office worker who care more about her work than anything else.

They started with funny encounters and some fights, but they care about each other.

One of the memorable lines was

Sometimes you just need to let yourself simmer a little longer to bring out the best of you. Like a stew.

If you have time, you should watch it. I might look for the web toons too..

When the game is over

I mentioned in early of this year post that I played Pokémon intensively after it was launched in November. Longing of playing my childhood game in their native console is one of the main reasons I went crazy with it. But I don’t play it often these days. Instead, I play Fire Emblem in my iPhone.

I did complete the Pokémon League once and there are still other mini missions which I haven’t completed, like to capture the daily Pokémon, Zygarde cells, Ultra Beasts.

After some time, I realise that one of the reason I stopped playing Pokémon in my 3DS these days is I don’t want it to end. I realise that if I completed every mini games including filling up my Pokédex there will be nothing left for me to play anymore. And thinking about it makes me a little sad.

Not good enough

Me and procrastination seems always a good friend.

I want to post something and procrastinator-me will say, do you have time to write a good blog? You usually have little patience to compose a post with good flow, have you thought of the title, and many other questions.

Yes, the procrastinator-me sounds like me at work when dealing with projects. I have a series of check list which I usually ask my colleagues to ensure the project can be done properly.

The procrastinator-me is perfectionist. If I can’t deliver the best, it will be a shame.  Why you deliver half baked blog post, no one cares about your thought. Too many people have poured their thought in the Internet, right?

Experience grinding

If you’re a gamer, you’ll get this instantly when people say, man, too much grinding is needed.

In our younger days, my brother and I often play the same game but I like to see what’s next in the storyline and didn’t spend much time to train myself, as a result the boss easily beaten me up. I look at my brother playing his character and he had lots of patience than me, trained his character well, strategize the team, etc. (he even repeat the chapter if he didn’t get what he wants, he’s my best practice when it comes to gaming) :p

Most of the RPG are like that.. right?

Family Reunion Day

This post was meant to be published in 2014-01-31 during reunion day or Lunar New Year. But I wrote halfway so this post has been lying in Draft for 3 years.

After reading it, it was few sentences and I couldn’t remember what did I want to say 3 years ago. So I decided to rewrite it with 2017 in mind. The date of the post in 2014 is fairly close with 2017 hey?

Glad to be home for the first few days, then I started to feel restless because some of my usual activities can be done in my hometown. For example walking from one place to another, I need to drive. Although on one hand, I miss driving too.

However, it gives me a chance to take a break from my routine. Which is good, if it’s breaking from bad routine. Often I found ideas or plan my whole year better when I’m at home, away from all the distractions I’m having while I was overseas.

Puzzle and puzzled

Last year I bought One Piece puzzle in Anime Festival Asia. It’s been awhile since I did my puzzle, it caught me surprise because it’s 1.5x larger than my previous one.

I plan to build the edge that night and call it for a day, but instead I work on the characters. They are easier to recognize since they have more distinct features.
And it came to my mind that, it’s okay to work not in order. It’s your work after all, so do it your way, enjoy it.

Because I enjoyed it, I was immersed into getting it done and forgot the time that I need to rest.

Which reminds me of what my sensei told us, hobby is something that you do when you have time to refresh yourself. So, don’t rush it. Enjoy the process, finding the pieces and building it.

pokémon and me

I just finished watching Pokémon XY&Z series which I started last week of November. I just feel I need to have some catch up with the Pokémons since I’m playing Sun & Moon now. The first series I watched was Kanto region and they have 7 regions now: Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos and Alola. (man, I have to admit I feel old now)

The Sun & Moon was released 18 November and I bought it a week later after playing the demo and can’t help to fall in love again.

The game and anime remind me of a few things
