Well, now you know it's not only you feel like that.
I feel something is lacking without good rival and I realise one thing recently that I dare to venture out or try something different just for the sake of having a rival.
The bad thing is, I'm not focused. I may do things that actually I don't really like. But, the good thing is, I learn a lot of different things and I prove to myself that I can pass another challenge.
And who knows that one day, those will become the dots that I'll connect to in the future.

So, let's keep challenge ourselves to be better. Find a good rival and produce things better :)

Lol, I think I miss the rivalry too... Idk why, but after a year in my company everything becoming so dull right now since there are no one who can motivate me more in competing with me. I feel that I've done my best since there're no one who can beat me in doing the IT job in my company now... Damn, I really miss the newbie feeling too hahaha.

I like the way you put it.
Come to think of it, I'm totally absorbed when I'm doing my hobby, I even can ignore people around me. To some people (like that friend), they just can't stand to be alone. They like to talk, whether they will feel good while judging people, well, we'll never know.

Btw, congratz for your one-year-old bub, reminds me of bezelbub haha..

I quote what I occasionally post in my FB:

Q: "What separates men and boys ?"
A: "The price of their toys."

Some people feel good at assembling their models (I do too, occasionally).
Some people feel good at playing video games (I still do, and I got a one-year-old bub).

Some people feel good when they are.... judging other people.
Now I'm not sure how your friends are having fun, but get this - you do not need to ditch what you like just for the sake of peer-pressure.

What's with people wanting to shape other people, I don't get it.

Yes, sometimes I give up things too fast because I don't have perseverance or lack of determination. But, this movie reminds me that there is a big difference whether you are merely interested or you are committed to it.

Seeing your blog, somehow reminds me about watching this Jdrama long long time ago. It was my first Jdorama and I'm sure that most people who watched this would say fun to watch.
This was the first drama who can make me convert from Anime to Jdrama. I learn a lot. I even cried when I saw this, even though I forgot which part made me cried... This Jdrama has a lot of morale lessons like you've said in 2 of your blog posts. I've enjoyed it a lot, and I learned that passions never let you down. If you really like your job, then you'll be evolve to adapt in your situation whatever happens to you.

Trust me, my Kanji is not that good yet..
Sometimes I read it as how I read Hanzi, because I learn it before.. But it also become double edge sword, I easily forget how I should read it in Japanese. Oops..

Yeah, that's the ultimate goal of learning language.. To be able to communicate with the native :D

Ic, that's great. I still couldn't read kanji yet... That's why I envy you can read bilingual novel. My only motivation to learn Japanese is actually so that when I go to Japan someday... I could speak with their own language. And of course I want to know how fun to watch live concert at least once in japan.
