Moving, learning and keeping the persevarence

There were few posts in the past about “persevere” in this blog, yet I still like this word a lot.

If you google it, the definition of that word is:

Continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success

So the question I recently asked myself is, how strong you can persevere to achieve your dream?

Have a clear definition of your dream

What are the target you want to achieve, if you can’t define it well, then how can you get there?

The common issue we always have are:

  1. Scared to dream high
  2. Don’t have the courage to admit that we want it

Work the path

Whether it’s out of your reach at this moment or not, let’s draw out the map on how to get it.

Remember, work it our SMART-ly.

Have the spirit to have the adventure

My dad used to  say, don’t think that you will fall when you learn how to ride a bike because you will fall eventually. But if you fell in the end, don’t think too much (despite the hurt) just take the bike again and ride it again.

Funny but true, the older we are, the more timid we are. We have a thought that mistakes must not be happened. We will think hard to ensure everything run smoothly. As we get older, we are less adventurous.

You may say, it’s easier said than done. But one thing to remember from our childhood experience, when we are not focused on making mistakes, we had a great fun (with all the bruises, fell, or dents) right?

Lastly, this is where the word “persevere” takes place. After we did all of those, don’t forget to have some fun along the way. Persevere when we face some difficulties.

To conclude, I have a simile I heard from a talk to remind us about perseverance.

The story is about a donkey that almost buried alive by the villagers. The donkey is inside a deep hole and the villagers are starting to shovel the earth on it. But what does the donkey do to escape it? The donkey shakes its body every time the dirt fall unto it and step on it. The donkey stand on an inch higher and higher. Just before the villagers realize it, it jumps out the hole.

Morale of the story is, problems are always out there. When we look it from different perspective, it will become challenges. Solve one at a time, and out it behind us. We are one inch higher to reach our dream.

So, care to share your story?
