3 easy tips to keep your consistency

Every one of us has their own pace on doing something. Doing it repetitively we can call it consistency. And far from the ideal scenario, we always have something happened in between our normal daily life in a way that disrupt the pace.

Consistency Cartoon

Talking about work, sometimes we are so confused with our tasks. Usually the longer you work at your work place, eventually you will have more and more tasks. Just kidding. 🙂

Consistency can also means doing our work timely for example always post blog article in certain days, or deliver our work in timely manner.

So, in this post here are some tips I did to keep my consistency..

1. Set a schedule for your tasks.

I find that it’s easier to start a new task by setting up a schedule or certain timings. Because naturally, it’s hard to start a new, but once we get used to it, it will become part of our activities.

Schedule also helps to remind us, that some tasks need to be done before others.

2. Follow it and do it.

Follow the schedule no matter how we feel or think about doing the task. Sometimes all the hard work is just in our head. When we really do it, it’s not that hard or complicated. Imagining it, thinking about it, feeling it are the hard works.

3. Learn from others.

It’s not only us who experienced it, ask people around you, surely we will find some people that experienced it before. They may have different activities but the main issue, to maintain consistency, will be there. And who knows that their unique way may inspire you to find out yours?

Last one,

4. Practice, practice and practice.

No one makes it perfectly in the first place, you may think that I’m still not that consistent, or I’m not consistent enough to do the task every now and then. Everyone does it. What we can do is, we learned from the past, what makes us didn’t follow or unable to follow the schedule, learn from it and we improve it. Life is continuous learning, remember.

I don’t think you’ll need consistency, even the best has his/her bad and good days 🙂

I think it is more important to have discipline in what you are doing. Posting a blog for the sake of posting just make it like repetitive work, but if you are disciplined to write good article, it doesn’t really matter if you are 1 or 2 days late, but you do get a good result that you are satisfied with

    Same as work
Allow yourself to go slower on bad days, and faster on good days
But have enough discipline to always finish before the deadline hahaha

Consistency is needed only as training for discipline

    Only my 2 cents 🙂

    • “But have enough discipline to always finish before the deadline”.. Nicely coined.. (y)

PS: It’s not just for the sake of posting.. Blogger need to be consistent as in newspaper is always be there in the morning right? 😉

True, just like Julie and Julia, 1 dish everyday to blog hahaha
But you see, it is a practice, for her to have the discipline to write

Like newspaper, in the end, there are days where there isn’t much content, there are days where the content is awesome. They need to be consistent since everyday counts in their income :p So even on slow news days, they also still have to publish something

When it goes to online publishing, I think it mimic more on what I think is the ideal. People publish when they have something interesting to write about and none otherwise 😉 But always be disciplined to write (before your readers leave coz no news for months hahaha)

Btw, don’t you think sometimes the mangaka are like that too? Sometimes in the comic there are filler coz the mangaka doesn’t have enough time to write good content (Sinetron Indo juga… karena harus shoot tiap hari, akhirnya banyak slow motion close up ke wajah orang misal hahahaha)

        • Hehe.. Yeah, it involves more than element to achieve something. 🙂

It’s also part of learning process.

Some may say that talent help you to reach your destination faster than depends on effort only, though.

And again, walls are built to test us, how badly we want to get that (consistency, persistent, determination, etc.) quoting Mr. Pausch.

          Right?
